FERRY BOAT TRAGEDY.

CALCUTTA, Wednesday. A ferry boat carrying Mohammedan labourers across the river Noakhali, East Bengal, was swamped in a tidal bore. Two hundred and sixteen were drowned. There are 31 survivors.
