HUNT MEETS
ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON. The third meet of the season of the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty Hunt Club, was held at Whakatane on Saturday afternoon, it being the first meet to bo held here. The weather was ideal and a large number of visitors was present. Starting from the Strand, Whakatane, the hunt was earried over Messrs. Sumner 's, Campbell's, Bell's, Melville's, and Claris' ' properties. Two runs were obtained and the hounds were in good fettle, but the ground was dry and bad for scent. No kills were made. After the meet the hunt assembled at the Awakeri Hall, where afternoon tea was served to the ladies. Altogether a g'ood day's sport was experienced. Among those who followed were: Dr. H.
