WHAKATANE BEAT RANGITAIKI The most interesting match of the season w'as played at Matata on! Saturday when Whakatane met Rangitaiki for the Te Hnrnui- Apanui Shield. The Weather Was perfeet and a record attendance was present. The play was hard and fast and at h'alf-time the score was 5 all. However Whakatane had the territorial advantage in the last spell and won by 14-8.
