FANCY DRESS BALL

CHILDREN'S ANNUAL DANCE The Whakatane Winter Show Building was crowded on Friday night on the occasion of the Whakatane School plain and fancy dress dance. The great variety of fancy costumes was I evidence of the interest which had I been taken in the event. The grand match was led by two tiny tots, Pat Allan and Don Luxton, while the fancy daneing of the pupils ranging from infants to the older children, was very creditably performed. The supper tables were prettily decorated with streamers and wattle and credit for this must be given to the committee in charge. Members of the committee were, The Mayoress, Mrs W. Sullivan, Mesdames W. R. S. Baker, L. Buddle, G. Otley, J. L. Wylie, F. Pitcaithly, A. G. Allan, Miss Barr, Dr. J. C. Wadmore, (chairman) and Messrs G. Otley and R. Wilson members of the School Committee.
