— By Telegraph — Copyright).
ST. JOHN (N.F.), Wednesday. Rioting broke out here early today. A sux-ging mob shattered the windows arid pillaged shopS before the police scattei'ed them. Two policemen were injured. Eighteen riotei'S were arrested. It was a small affair compared with those of last April. The ostensible reason of the latest trouble was a desire for a report oh the negotiations between the Government and banks for a loan to finance a programme of street work to assist the unemployed.
