IN SYDNEY'PARK battered body of young auckland woman found marks OF VIOLENCE

Kec. July 27, 8.0 p.m. SYDNEY, Wednesday. The body of Hilda White, aged 33 years, of Darlinghurst was found in Centennial Park close to the city today, with many marks of violence on the head and neck. A subsequent examination by the Government medical officers disclosed that the victim had beeh subjected to hrutal handling, possibly outrag'ed, and then strangled with a portion of her underclothing. Miss White was a resident of Auckland. She came to Australia 41 years ago with her mother, sister and brother. She attended a picture show last night, and was apparently forcibly eari*ied off in a motor car to the paivk where there was evidence of her struggle before death. Every detective available in investigating her death. Her own rnale acquaintances have already been questioned.
