JUDGE RESISTS ARREST

CIVIL GUARD DISCON CERTED. The Mayor of Umbrete, an Andalusian village, did not like the way the judge was carrying out his duties. So he ordered the civil guards to arrest the jurist and confine him in the calabozo. The civil guards went to the judge's house and said: "Your honour, we arrest you in the name of the Mayox\" "How; dare you," roared the judge. "You go right back and arrest the Mayor for 'exeeeding his powers!" The civil gaurds went into a huddle and decided that politics was too much for them and arrested no one.
