KILLED BY DOG-BITE GERM ON TOOTH.
"Accidentai death" was the verdict at the inquest on Geoffrey Musgrave P'eclc, 50, solicitor and managing director of Haigh Brewery, Wigan, who died following a dog-bite. It was stated that while in the yard at th'e brewery he spoke to the nightwatchman who had a blaek retriever dog on a lead. He attempted to touch it, but was advised by the watchman not to do so as the dog had an uncertain temper. The dog flew at him and snapped his hand, inflicting a slight scratch. Later his hand swelled, and it was found that streptocoecus bacillus had entered through the scratch. Three operations, including amputation of the arm, failed to save his life. The doctor stated that the bacillus was on th'e dog's teeth.
