— By Telegraph — Copyright C

HUNTLY, Thursday. Severe head injuries were received by Jack, the two-year-old son of Mr and Mrs A. Turpton, when he was struck by the Auckland-Taneatua express at the approach to Huntly North at 11.25 this morning. The child was playing near the railway line, and, as the train approached, ran across the track. The engine struck him and threw him clear of the line. After receiving medical attention the boy was conveyed on the express to Hamilton and admitted to the Waikato Hospital, where latest inquiries disclose that he is in a serious condition.
