ORANGEMEN EXONERATED OF ALLEGED BELFAST RIOTING.

WELLINGTON, Thursday. In regard to recent Press messages stating that Orangemen had attacked Roman Catholic districts in Belfast, also that Orangemen had attacked and damaged the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, the Parliamentary Committee of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand, in reply to a cable for facts, has received the following from Mr. Davison, Grand Lodge secretary for Northern Ireland: — "Orangemen had nothing whatever to do with the attaclc on the Liverpool Cathedral. The report is absolutely absurd. It is equally untrue to say that Roman Catholic quarters in Belfast were attacked. A squahble took place in the streets, but there, were no riots. A Judge of the Assize to-day complimented Belfast upon the peace and quietude of the city." ______
