CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. One result of the succession of hard frosts in the city has been that water pipes havq suffered severely and plumbers of the city have been working -"round the cloek" in an effort to cope with the unprecedented demand for their services. Telephones have been going busily as one distressed householder after another has called for assistance. JJearly all plumbers in the city worked throughout Sunday. As the result of wastage eaused by burst pipes over 1,000,000 gallons of water were lost to the city on Sunday.
