AUCKLAND, Monday. Charles William Kitson (48), carter, was committed for sentence todr.y on a charge of bigamy. He married in England in 1905 and went through a form of marriage ■n Auckland in 1924 with a woman who believed herself to be his wife till March of this year. In evidence to-day she said that there were three children, and a fourth was expected. Accused had always been good to her and the children. A detective said accused was much respected and had never before been in trouble. He recently received a letter from his wife, in which she said that she would be sorry if he was prosecuted for bigamy. Accused said that after coming to New Zealand he wrote asking his wife to join him, but he had not heard fiorn her for abqut three years before his second marriage.
