WHAKATANE ROAD RACE.
WHAKATANE, Saturday. The Whakatane Cycle Club held a 20 -mile road cup race to-day, from Whakatane to Taneatua and return. The race was run under bad weather 1 conditions, the road being greasy. Results : — J. Whitten (scr.) 1 \ D. Aberhart (30s.) 2 G. Green (4im.) 3 Fastest time: Whitten, 50m 30s. Won by two lengths, half a wheel between second and third. There were eight riders.
