Stimson (Secretary of State) has sent a message to Sir John Simon: "I earnestly thank you for sympathetic discuss'ions of Mr. Hoover's proposal, and memhers of our two delegations working jointly will be able to contribute to its fulfilment. Sir John Simon replied that he recipi'ocated the wish for continued cooperation. Only eo-operation of all states could lift the burden of excessive armament. Great Britain deeply appreciated the spirit and pUrpose of Mr. Hoover's recomm'endation, and would do her utmost to promote the acceptance of a conerete proposal covering the whole field of disarmament, by asking the largest measure of disarmament by all States represented at Geneva.
