FRENGH AND GERMANS DISCUSS PROBLEMS IN FRIENDLY SPIRIT FIRST STA'GE concludes

Rec. June 26, 5.5 p.m. LAUSANNE, Saturday. The first stage of the conference ende'd with the departure of Herr vori Papen for Berlin and M. Herriot for Paris. The second stage will be opfened on their return early next week. It is expected the conference will last until July 9', just in time to permit the British delegates to leave for OttaWa. From all accounts, the Franco-Ger-man distussions have been continUed in a ffiendly spirit. Herr von Papen dreW sombre pictures of the state of affairs in Germany. Herr von Papen, interviewed by Le Matin, said that he recognised that in the event of a liquidation of reparations, France would have the right to compensation.
