n.z. tramp steamer limps into sydney. SYDNEY, Tuesday. The British tramp steamer Welcombe has arrived from Dunedin. She was battered by the gale>, taking 8| days to make the trip. Early last week the Welcombe ran into the heavy weather . which has prevailed over a section of the Tasman for some time. At one stage although the engines were driving at full speed ahead the ship actually was heing driven toWards New Zealand. Several hunks in the forecastle head collapsed. Oue native fireman was injured.
