DELEGATE EJECTED.
— By Teljgrapii- -Copycight).
CHICAGO, Friday. At the Republican Convention, Mr. Joseph I. France (Maryland) was forcibly ejected froni the spealcer's platform as he sought to get the floor. His name had just been placed in nomination, and his plan had been to make a nomination himself on behalf of the former President, Mr. Calvin Coolidge. "They will have to carry out the Presidential candidate to stop me," Mr. France toki the newspaper men. The police did practically carry him out. A few minutes later Mr. Hoover was renominated for President and Mr. Curtis for Vice-President. Senator France was the only other name officially nominated. He received only four votes upon the roll call. After Mr. France had been forcibly ejected he was in tremendous rage, and on the verge of collapse. He explained that he had been authorised by the Oregon delegation, and therefore had the credentials, to place Mr. Coolidge's name for nomination. The delegates surrendered themselves to tremendous noise-making when Mr. Hoover was nominated, and the nomination was made unanimous.
