CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The Government has not interfered with the exehange rate and does not intend to interfere, said the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, this evening. Mr. Forbes had heen spending the week-end at his home in Cheviot. The Prime Minister was asked what would happen to the exehange rate when the regulations under the exehange credit pool were relaxed at the end of June; He said that the present exehange rate had heen fixed by the bank and presumably would still be maintained by the banks when- the regulations were withdrawn.
