SECRET PREPARATION OF BITUMENOUS COAL AND OIL

LONDON, Monday. A well kept seeret was revealed after the departure of the Cunard liner, Scythia from Liverpool for Ameriea, some of her boilers heing fired with a specially prepared mixture of 60 per cent. oil and 40 per cent. pulverised bitumenous coal, made by a seeret process. It is hoped that if the experiments are suecessful, they will result in a big saving in a liner's huge oil bill, and will also have an important effect on the British coal fields. The navy and the whole mercantile fleet are expected to adopt the preparation in order to reduce fuel costs.
