JAZZ CLUB
FAREWELL EVENING On Thursday evening, June 9, the Opotiki Jazz Club farewalled Miss D. Larmer and Mr. E. MacKay, who were married on Saturday. Those present were : Mesdames Larmer, Dawson, Jessop, Vanstone, O'Sullivan; committee, Misses Short, Sydenham, Todd, M. Holloway, P. Holloway; also Misses D. Larmer, C. Larmer, J. Downey, P. Todd, J. Todd, M. Birkmyar, E. Fleming, J. Kirlcbride, N. Tyrie, Z. Gordon, K. Hird, N. Kemp, N. Neilson, J. Wilson, C. Payne., and R. Bonner. A presentation of a piece of table silver was made by Mr. G. A. Dawson on behalf of all members of the club, and in a brief speech, Mr. Daw- j son conveyed the very sincere wishes of the Jazz Club for the young couple's future happiness. Mr. MacKay thanked the club on behalf of himself and Miss Larmer. On hehalf of the ladies, Miss Larmer was presented with a bouquet of Iceland poppies, asparagus fern and smilax.
