SALE AT MATAMATA

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held a very successful clearing sale at ' Matamata on account of the estate of the late Arthur Crowther. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was brisk throughout. The dairy hei'd, which comprised mostly young Jersey cows, came forward in good order, and sold at advanced prices on previous saies. There was also good competition for the pedigree Jersey cows, while the highly-bred Jersey bull "Waipiko Love Boy" realised 53 guineas. The implements and sundries met with a good reception, and realised prices in advance of recent quotations. Quotations. — Jersey cows, good, £5 15s to £8 10s; more backward sorts, £3 10s to £5; older cows, £1 5s to £2 10s; unsound cows, 12s to £1 ls; Jersey heifers, early ealvers, £5 10s to £7 10s; more backward sorts, £3 to £4 10s; pedigree Jersey cows, lOgns. to 18gns. ; others, 7gns. to 9gns. ; yearling pedigree Jersey heifers, 35gns. to lOgns.; yearling grade Jersey heifers, £2 ls to £3 2s.
