FRANKTON SALE.

LITTLE CHANGE IN PRICES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly stock sale at Frankton yards yesterday when prices generally did not vary much from late rates, for an average yarding of all sorts of cattle. There was another fairly heavy offering of ox beef, a-few of which - were well-grown, prime quality, but mostly prime light quality. They met with a fairly keen demand, quotations being very fair. Prices were firm under £air competition for cow beef, the entry of which comprised an average number of all classes. A few good runners met with spirited competition, while values for store cattle remain unchanged. For a number of dairy cattle the best met with a good sale, but prices for later ealvers were only fair. We auote ; — Prime fat bullocks, £5 . 7s 6d to £5 17s; lighter, prime bullocks, £4 10s to £5 ps; medium quality bullocks, £4 to £4 10s; lighter quality, £3 10s to £4; light and unfinished, £3 5s to £3 10s; prime fat cows, £3 15s to £4 2s 6d; medium quality, £3 5s to £3 12s 6d; lighter quality, £2 12s 6d to £3 2s Gd; light, £2 2s to £2 10s; killable, 32s to £2; stores, 16s to 25s; runners, £2 to £2 15s; others, £1 5s to £1 17s 6d. Good-conditioned dairy cattle, close to profit, made £5 to £6 10s; later dairy cattle, £3 10s to £4 15s. Fat ewes and wethers were again penned in more than average numbers. Competition for ordinary sorts was only steady and values show no improvement on last week's reduced rates. Prime quality were in keen demand, 75 two-tooth wethers, sold on account of Mr. C. W. T. Whitfield, realising 15s 2d to 15s 8d. Late rates were fully maintained on a fairly heavy yarding of fat lamb. Prime two-tooth wethers made from 15s 2d to 15s 8d; prime wethers, 12s 6d to 13s 6d; medium quality, 10s 6d to 12s; poor quality, 9s 6d to 10s; prime ewes, 6s to 7s 6d; fat ewes, 5s to 6s; lighter ewes, to 4s 9d; prime lambs, 11s to 13s; medium lambs, 10s to 11s; smaller lambs, 8s 6d to 10s. Owing to a short supply of pigs prices increased sharply for prime baconers, while stores also sold at values a little better than last week's rates. Stores and weaners were also penned in small numbers, . and met with the keenest competition, and prices improved appreciably. Heavy baconers brought 38s to £2 8s; lighter baconers, 30s to 35s; light, 28s to 30s; heavy porkers, 24s to 28s; medium porkers, 20s. to 23s; light, 16s to 20s; large stores, 11s to 14s; smaller stores, 6s to 8s; weaners. 3s to 6s.
