AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The Loan and Mercantile Company reports as follows on its Westfield sale : — ! Beef. — Average numbers, steady ! demand, values on a par with last week's quotations. Choice ox brought 19s per lOOlbs. ; ordinary and prime, 13s to 18:":; cow ard heifer. 12s to 18s; prime steers, £5 12s 6d to £7 15s; light steers, £4 12s 6d to "5 10s; cows and heifers, extra prime, £4 12s 6d to £5. Prime quotations: Prime wethers, 12s 6d to 16s 9d; light and unfinished, 8s to 12s 3d. Lambs were in smaller numbers. Late quotations: Prime, 9s to 15s; othqrs, 5s to 8s 9d. Calves: An average yarding with values firmer. Runners brought £1 12s Gd to £4 8s; heavy vealers, £1 10s to £2; light, 18s to £1 8s. A small yarding of pigs was sold at improved values. Baconers, £1 16s to £2 9s; porkers, £1 to £1 12s.
