"GET TO THE 'OSSES"
Sir, — As one of the unemployed I am very much interested in the correspondence which has appeared in your columns recently regarding proposals for putting the unemployed on the land. I for one Sir, would like a chance to go on the land; it certainly cannot be worse than the pre- . sent system of "relief," but while I | am waiting, everybody seems to be talking and nobody seems to be get- | ■ ting anywhere. Might I suggest that | Messrs Yaile, Jackson, Ford, Martin, j Russell, and others who have ideas on the subject get together arrive at a common basis of action, and then ! politely or impolitely as the occasion demands, tell the Government to, in the words of the immortal Sam Wel- : ler, "cut the cackle and get to the 'osses." — I am, etc., SIMPLE SIMON.
