BRITISH INVESTORS AND POSITION IN CHILI (British Official Wireless) Rec. June 7, 7.0 p.m. RUGBY, Tuesday. On news of the Chilian revolution, Chili bonds which had heavily slumped on the suspension of debt payments at the high level touched last year, suffered a further heavy drop on the London exchange. In the House of Commons to-day, the Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, replying to a question, said that the Chilian Government had made no recent progress toward meeting its liabilities in respect to loans borrowed from British investors, and added that the Foreign Office was in close touch with the council for foreign bondholders which had been set up as a special committee to deal with the matter.
