CLEARING SALE AT WAIMANA A most successful clearance sale, which attracted considerable interest, was held at Waimana on Wednesday last by the New Zealand Loari and Mercaptile Agency Company, Ltd., ahd Dalgety and Company, Ltd., auctioneers in eonjunetion, on behalf of Mr. Frank Harris, whose lease has expired, when his well known dairy herd of 155 choice cows and heifers, as well as horses, pigs, implements and plant were disposed of, without reserve. Although the weather Was showery, there was a record atteridance of buyers, all' parts of the Bay of Plenty being represented, and the keenest competition was in evidence throughout. The cows, which were recognisod as splendid butterfat producers, came forward in the best condition. Jerspy cows, close to profit, sold at from lOgns. to £13 5s; later calvers from £6 to £8; unsound cows from £3 to £5. Springing heifers realised from £2 10s to £5 15s. Jersey weaner heifers, £2; farm horses, £11 15s to £17. Breeding sows, £3 ls; porkers, £l 6s to £1 11s; slips, 10s; weaners, 8s 6d; suckers, 3s 6d. Shearing plant, machine and farm implements were keenly sought and realised market values.
