RECORD TIME OVER FOURTEEN MILE COURSE WHAKATANE, Saturday. In fair weather* the Whakatane Athletic and Cycling Club held a 14mile road race to-day over the borough course. There were eleven starters and unusual interest was taken m the raoe by the public. Outstanding was the pei*formance of W. Hansen who, with a handicap of Imin, rode the distance in 35 min 2-5sec, thus breaking the previous record by nine seconds. Results were. C. Suhkel (4|) 1. D. Colilter (45) 2; R. B'enton (6) 3 G;. Green (45) 4.
