FROZEN MEAT TRADE

Strong opposition to proposals for the adoption of the quota system in connection with the importation of New Zealand frozen lamb into Eng land has been expressed in a statement made by Mr. J. S. Jessop, on behalf of the New Zealand Sheepowners' Federation, to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, and members of the Cabinet. The sheep'owners and exporters of the Dominion, according to Mr. Jessep, view with apprehension any attempt to introduee a .quota system, which, they consider, would have a disastrous effect on New Zealand's export trade.
