-By Telegraph— Copyright).
Rec. May 12, 8.20 p.m. NEW YORK, Thursday. The Lima correspondent of the New York Times states that the Peruvian Foreign Minister, Signor Albert Fruendt Rosell, to-day revealed that several leading Spanish-American Republies, including Peru, Chili and Mexico, have begun negotiations toward the formation of a Latin-Ameri-can Customs Union for the united advance of concerted reprisals against the United States tariff policy. ' Peru and Chile have virtually Veached an agreement concerning measures for retaliation in the event of a copper tariff at Washington being passed. It is expected that Argentina and other countries will join. It is recalled that Argentina promoted a similar move some years ago, when Congress placed a tariff on Argenting products. Peru and Chile were then, however, unsympathstic, but are now anxious to reorganise the movement.
