Pipe-smoking among women is now in vogUe in some parts of the world, but it has been left to Hastings to begin the fashion among children. People returning along Karamu Roa'd • from Saturday's matches were evidently surprised f;o see a small boy, aged about 14, and in the short-pants j stage 'of his sophisticated life, puffing resolutely, and with a convincing appearance of expertness, at a man'ssize pipe, from which a large volume of smoke was issuing.
