COUNTERFEIT NOTE
FORGERY PRESENTED FOR PAYMENT IN AUCKLAND £1 NATIONAL BANK OF N.Z. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Natioiial Bank of New Zealand advises that a forged £1 National Bank note, No. 430282, purporting to be signed by Geol'ge Barr and countersigned by E. Johnstone, was presented for payment in Auckland. The note was well washed, and the printing was bad, but it is on good paper. It is an obvious forgery.
