LONDON, Wednesday Underwriters are intrigued by a 'claim for £37,000 upon the life of the late M. Doumer. The policy was taken out 11 months ago and had a month to run when he was assassinated, the premium paid being £70. The policy belongs to a Dutchman and the reiatives of M. Doumer will in no way benefit from the policy, which was not marked "proof of interest." Presumably it was a bonafide business speculation, but careftil inquiries are being made, as other possibilities cannot he ruled out.
