— By Telegrsph- — Copyright).
Rec. Mai*. 30, 7.0 p.m. WASHINGTON, Tuesday. The intention of Congress to pa'fes iegislation granting £500,000,000 ne'dessary to complete the payment of world wai* veterans' bonus certificat'e's drew a sh'arp rebuke from the President, Mr. Herbert Hoover. He declardd that such action would irretrievably. undermine "the Government's . prb'gfamme to build up artd SUstain the nation's credit. _ 1 It is dnderstood that those in favour of payment have already pledged 167 members of the House, while 177 me'mbei's are doubtful. Although, in the evfent of the passage of the Bill, a Presidentiai veto is considered as-' sured, the danger of its passage over the veto is increasingly felt.
