E. C. ADOLPH CUP

N. HOWE WINS CYCLING TROPHY FOR j SEASON. | FINE FORM SHOWN. As a result of the completion of the cycling events in the Rotorua Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club's evening sports programme, N. Howe is the season's winner of the cup generously donated by Mr. E. C. Adolph for competition among cyclists. Throughout the series, N. Howe, who is classed as a junior rider, displayed fine raeing ability, as is shown t>y the fact that out of a total of eight starts he has ridden into first place three times and has been placed second and third twice. This form has been achieved only by his strict attention to training, under the guidance of Mr. F. A. Hayward. Howes' nearest opponent, P. Bell, has also shown distinct promifee as a cyclist during the season, as also has his brother, M( Bell, and also /S. Howe, who are both close up with the leading point-holders. The races generally have been very evenjy contested and the keennes^ and ability shown in this branch of the sport of the recently formed club justifies the hope that next season riders equal to the best in the Province will be produced by the club. The poinfs credited to competitors follow. — N. Howe, 19 points; P. Bell, 14; M. Bell, 13; S. Howe, 11; R. Henry 5£; A. Beckett, 5; J. McCall, 5; A. Griffiths, 1.
