BEAUTIFUL CAKE.
Half lb butter, 1 cup of sugar, 3 eggs, 1 cup of milk, 21 cups of flour. I teaspoonful cream of tqrtar, l-8tb teaspoonful baking soda, a few drops of essence of lemon, 1 cup currants, 1 cup sultanas, 1 oz lemon peel. Beat butter and sugar together, then eggs, milk, flour, cream of tartar and soda, lastly fruit. Bake in moderate oven II to 2 hours. — (Original). Mrs. F Powell, 42 Pukuatua St.
