DIGESTIVE SHORT PASTRY.
Plain flour ilb, 2oz ground rice, 51b of lard or butter, one teaspoonful baking powder, one egg, and a- little water. Rub the lard into dry ingredients, handling as lightly as possible; whisk the egg and add enough water to make it of a proper consistency for rolling out. Made from above recipe pastry can be eaten by those who have a most delicate digestion.
