SCOTCH LOAF.
A wholesome and most delicious Scotch loaf can be quickly made with a quarter of a pound of white flour, thrfee-quarters of wholewheat • flour, a quarter of a teaspoonful of salt, one levcl teaspoonful of sugar, one of bicarbonate of soda, two of cream of [ tai'tar, all mixed together and made into a firm dough with sour milk -or buttermilk. Bake in a well-greased pan in a moderate oven for thirty-five to forty-five minutes.
