FURTHER FLOODS
hawke's bay rivers again inundate farm lands NAPIER, Sunday. Very heavy rain, particularly m the back country, caused the rivers in Hawke's Bay again to rise over the week-end, the banks of one breaking in several places and the water covering the surrounding country to a depth in places of about five feet. No stock losses are reported, and the rivers to-night have fallen considerably. \ In the early hours of this morning the Tutaekuri River rose to a greater height than at any time during the previous wet spell, and about five o'clock in the morning on the Papakuri side, broke its banks in four places, allowing the water to flood several adjoining farms. The settlers, however, had plenty of opportunities to remove their stock. A number of small farmers' homesteads are isolated. At six o'clock this evening the Tutaekuri and Maororo rivers had fallen several feet, and with the cessation of rain they will continue to do so.
