SERIOUS SITUATION THREE MILLION DEFICIT

WELLINGTON, Friday. There is reason to believe that when .the State accounts are presented to Parliament at the end of the financial year, there will be a deficit of about £3,000,000, and that on the present hasis of revenue and expenditure, the estimated deficit for the next finanr cial jrear will be in the neighhourhood of £12,000,000. The Government has hopes that the report of the Economy Commission will go a long way to rectify a serious situation.
