5000 SHEEP BURNED
EXTENSIVE DAMAGE IN N.S.W. BUSH FIRES
SYDNEY, Thursday. It is estimated that 5,000 sheep were burnt to death in bush fires on station properties near Goondiwindi. Fire fighters were trying to keep the flames back from the sheep in one place, when a seeond fire overcanie them from the rear. Miles of f encing was destroyed and about 15,000 acres of grass country swept.
