Urquhart that it was time a proper zoning system was prepared for Rotorua, the Mayor (Mr. T. Jackson), at last night's meetirig of the Rotorua Borough Council agreed that it was time that plans were prepared. It would be possible to place tentative plans for zoning before the council, but not in the form iri which he considered they should go before, the council, Mr. Jackson stated. They should he prepared in such a way that a basis would be provided upon which * the council couid f ormulate definite proposals. That work was tpo large for a commit'tee of laymen and he proposed that the general committee be . enlarged by; the association of Messrs. E. la Trobe Hill, John Mitchell,. E. A. Meredith and George Urquhart. , .y/ith the assistance of these gentlemen the necessary technical and professional knowledge would he provided, and the committee would be able to malc'e definite proposals. If this course w'as agreed to, he would undertake to have the zoning proposals; placed before the council without delay. The additional a'ppointments to the committee were agreed to.
