Ashes are still fallin'g from the Mexican frbntier to Nicaragua. The entite Repilblic of Guatemala is terrified by a series of earthquakes, some of which were violent, which were centerdd in the vicinity of Lacar gepequez There were followed by. approxmately 50 further shocks. Dense clouds of smokej filled with ashes shot from the volcanoes, were carried in the wind as far as San Salvador. The streets and roof-tops of San Salvador are convered with ashes. The shocks have now apparently ceased, but the citizens are much alarmed.
