— By Telegr aph — Copyright).
Rec. Jan. 5, 5.5 p.m. - BERLIN, Monday. Two men armed with revolvers rushed into the office of a colliery in Westphalia. One held up the cashier, while the other rifled the safe of £60. They then dashed off with the money. The cashier and workmen immediately gave chase, when the robbers ordered the driver of a tramcar to assist in their escape. They threatened to shoot a detective who was standing on the platform, but another detective, whom they had not noticed, ordered the thieves to surrender. Before the robbers could pull out their revolvers, the detective shot one of them dead. The other escaped in the confusion. The money was found on the corpse and returned to the cashier.
