UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD MAKES SPECIAL GRANT DISTRIBUTION OF MEAT

WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The sum of £15,000 has been set aside by the Unemployment Board as a special amount for Christmas relief for unemployed, a.ccording to a statement made by the Rt. Hon J. G. Coates Minister in charge of Unemployment tonight. In addition it has been decided to distribute supplles of meat at present held by the Government to families who require food and by Mr. Coates to persons through an urgent appeal has been made out the country to give at least one day's work to those seeking it.
