SCOUT NEWS
rotorua no. 1 troop The usual weekly meeting of £he Rotorua No. 1 Troop of Boy Scouts was held at their headquarters on Friday night, when 56 boys paraded under Scoutmaster T. C. Hawkins. The evening was devoted to the usual instruction in first aid, signalling and tenderfoot test work, in which the boys are now becoming proficient. The troop has been fortunate in securing the services of Mr. Henderson, who is an expert in first aid and is a member of St. John's Ambul- ; ance Society. Two new patrols were formed of
new boys who have lately joined up, the troop having grown out of all expectations, its total roll now being 65 members. The troop is very much in need of a qualified signaller instructor to advance the boys in signalling. The Scoutmaster will be glad to hear from a gentleman willing to offer his services. | Six new boys have joined the troop ' and are receiving instruction in their i tenderfoot tests. ■ Local orders for the week ending ' December II: Patrol on duty, j "Beaver." Next for duty, "Fox."
