man, girl and small boy prevented from landing INCIDENT AT SYDNEY

Rec. Dec. 1, 8.15 p.m. SYDNEY, Tuesday. Three persons, a married man, a girl aged 17 years, and her step-brother aged about seven years were prevented from Ianding from the Ulimaroa this morning. A Customs officer interviewed the trio and ascertained that the man had paid the passages of the girl and boy in order to give them a holiday. The girl, who is exceptionally pretty, octupied a separate berth in another portion of the ship, whilst the boy berthed with the man. The girl and the hoy both sohhed bitterly when they realised that their holiday was being spoilt. The trio are returning by Friday's boat. . The |Customs officials actejjd upon radio instruetions received from the New Zealand police at Wanganui, where the girl is a dressmaker.
