Magnanimous Offer.
The local committee of the Labour Party has expressed appreciation of the action of the Independent Reform candidate, Mr: E. Earle Vaile, in offering them the use of the Majestic Theatre for an hour last evening. Mr. Vaile was under the impression that the LaTbour candidate, Mr A. F. Moneur, was unable to obtain a hall for the final evening before the election and made his offer in order to alford Mr. Moncur an opportunity of addressing the electors. Excuses For Living. The question "has a single man any excuse for living," asked Mr. E. Earle Vaile, Independent Reform candidate for the Rotorua electorate at his meeting last evening redueed the audience to fits of laughter. ''That is rather difficult to axiswer," said Mr. Vaile, "I should sqy he doesn't need any, hut a married man needs one, twice a day." (Renewed laughter).
