FORTNIGHTLY MEETING OF ROTORUA CONTROL BODY The fortnightly meeting of the management committee of the Rotorua Cricket Association was held last evening. It was decided to play the forthcoming :fixture with the .Bay of - Plenty Association at Matata in preference to the Whakatane Domain. The Primary School Association wrote asking whether the association would be prepared to assist it by the donation of some bats and a ball. The City, Albion, and High School Clubs' representatives undertook to supply old bats for use, while, the association decided to donate a ball for match purposes. Owing to wet weather on Saturday last, all games played resulted in an allocation of two points each. The draw for games and grounds resulted: — City v. Albion at Government Grounds No. 2, umpires, Messrs Fuller and Rohinson; Mamaku v. Old Boys ,at High School No. 2, umpires Messrs Hinton and Marcroft; High School v. Ngongotaha, at High School No. 1, umpires Messrs Clarke and Brennan. The Ngongotaha delegates" expressed appreciation of the action of the Old Boys team in having the Govern- - ment Grounds ready for play on Saturday last and for their willingness to take the field despite the adverse conditions. The secretary was instructed to have cards printed suitable for notiHying players of their selection in representative matches. Mr. F. Reid was appointed selector for the Rotorua area in the event of the Bay of Plenty minor association obtaining a challenge match for the Hawke Cup. It was decided to ask the High School Club to endeavour to re-ar-range the No. 2 wicket on the school grounds, but in the event of this not being possible, Mr. Clarke was empowered to arrange for the erection ■ of screens on the present wicket. Club secretaries are to he remind- • ed. that lists of players available for - selection in the team to meet the Bay of Plenty Sub-Association must be in the hands of the association's . secretary before December 5.
