WOMEN'S CLUB
The monthly committee meeting of the Rotorua Women's Club was held on Tuesday, November 10, Mrs. I.-M. Davidson presiding. On behalf of the entertainment circle, Mrs. N. M. Keane reported that (a very successful concert -had been (( given to the patients at the Sanatorium during the month of Octoher. Books and magazines had been freely distri'buted. It was decided to hold the Christmas concert for the patients about the second week in December. Mrs. Merriman, speaking for the sewing circle, stated that 12 parcels of clothing had been received during October; 62 garments had been made and 130 garments distributed, as well as a man's suit, boots, shoes, etc. Babies' clothing, or material for making the same, was urgently required by the sewing circle. The report for the benevolent circle, givep by Mrs. W. L. Richards, stated that 16 families had been helped during the month and meat supplied by Mrs. W. II. Smith, of Te Ngae, had been distributed. Mrs. Campny, treasurer for the club, reported that the bank blaance stood at £45 2s 5d. Accounts paid for the month of September amounted to £34 14s 9d. It was decided to hold a social evening at the Tea Kiosk in the Government Gardens on Thursday, November 19, at 7.45 p.m.
