BUTTERFLY FAIR
At the Butterfly Fair held on Tuesday afternoon and evening in St. John's Hall and organised by the members of the St. John's • Ladies' Guild, the novel decorations were the cause of much admiration and favourable comment. Every stall boasted a colour scheme of its own, being decorated in masses of different foliage and brightly eoloured butterflies. At the flower stall, at which Iceland poppies were predominant, were flowers of every hue and form, so arranged that they showed to perfection. A modern "Lucky Dip," which attracted many young patrons, proved a decided attribute to the suecess of the function and enabled squeakers, ( balloons and bugles, in the hands of active youngsters, to add to the general festivity. In the evening, cigarette raees, ball throwing, wood-sawing and other compeitions helped to stimulate general interest. Tea in the afternoon, and supper in the evening, was served in a trellised bower decorated witr laecypodium and mauve and yellow butterflies.
